Save Redlands' Koalas – Demand Action Now

The destruction of valued koala habitat in the grounds of Ormiston College, a premium Redlands school has infuriated many in the local community who value living in proximity to these important and endangered animals.
This episode has galvanised the Community into action in an attempt to prevent similar developments.

Local koala supporters were onsite outside Ormiston Collegfe for ??weeks in the lead-up to the approval

Despite many days of protest vigil at Ormiston College, the Queensland Government grant the college MID status, giving the development protection from local government provisions.

In part due to demonstrated public concerns, the Planning Minister, Hon. Jarrod Bleige included a number of conditions with the approval.  There has been, however, no evidence of monitoring the conditions, and now the Minister says that is the responsibility of  local government.  Redland City Council have pushed back, denying responsibility.

The destruction at Ormiston College began early on the day of the MID approval, and has dvastated thehabitat.

It seems that allthe statuary protection in the world will not stop the destruction of koala habitat, leading towards extinctio nof this beloved iconic creature.

IT's time for Action Now.
