This would be in line with the IOC's "New Norm" policy which is designed to keep Olympic infrastructure costs more reasonable for host countries and cities by using nearby existing facilities. It forms a part of the Olympic Cities agreement signed by the former State Government.
This email is asking the Premier to demonstrate some of the values he espouses, and in doing so, avoid significant expenditure on a facility many Redlands residents don't want, with a number of serious risks for the future.
Given the growing need for investment in housing, repairing damage after Cyclone Alfred and the rocketing cost of living, we believe the money could be much better spent.
